A method for separating blanks, the method comprising an upper blank separating module (1204) and a lower blank separating module (1203) for separating blanks (03) being brought toward one another;

• the at least three supporting elements (1202;
• 1211) being arranged so as to be positionable in at least three positions in a vertical direction (V);
• separating elements (1212) of the upper blank separating module (1204) and at least two supporting elements (1211) of the supporting elements (1202;
• 1211) of the lower blank separating module (1203) cooperating during the separation process;
• each of the at least two supporting elements (1211) being arrangeable in at least three positions by means of a positioning module (1246) and by means of a supporting module (1245);
• the positioning module (1246) for positioning the at least two supporting elements (1211) of the supporting elements (1202;
• 1211) comprising at least one upper stencil (1259) and one lower stencil (1261);
• and the second stencil (1261) designed as the lower stencil (1261) generating a further plane, characterized in that the stencils (1259;
• 1261) have cut-outs, through which supporting elements (1211) of the at least two supporting elements (1211) fit, in the form of a matrix and that supporting elements (1211) of the at least two supporting elements (1211) rest on the stencil (1259;

• that, during the separation process, a force is transmitted from at least some of the at least two supporting elements (1211) into the upper pressure-resistant stencil (1259) of the stencils (1259;
