Abstract
The present application relates to devices and components including apparatus, systems, and methods for employing subnetworks to communicate with cellular networks.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, from a management node (MN) of a subnetwork, a connection establishment request to request that a user equipment (UE) be admitted to a radio access network (RAN) via the subnetwork;
- assigning a subnetwork (SN) UE identity (ID) to the UE;
- and
- outputting, for transmission to the MN, an indication of the SN UE ID.

One or more non-transitory, computer-readable media having instructions that, when executed, cause processing circuitry to:
- output, for transmission to a base station, a buffer status report (BSR) that indicates a status of an uplink transmit buffer that is associated with a user equipment (UE) of a subnetwork;
- receive, from the base station, an uplink grant that schedules resources to be used for uplink transmission of data from the UE;
- and
- output the data from the UE using the resources.

An apparatus comprising:
- interface circuitry;
- processing circuitry coupled with the interface circuitry, the processing circuitry to:
- receive traffic for one or more user equipments (UEs) of a subnetwork;
- aggregate the traffic into a logical channel (LC) or radio bearer (RB);
- and
- output the traffic, via the interface circuitry, for transmission to a management node (MN) of the subnetwork via the LC or RB.
