Apparatus and method for determining data resource for wireless communications

A method comprising:

• transmitting, from a base station to a wireless device, common configuration information associated with a direct data transmission resource, the common configuration information comprising an indication of a direct data allocation period for wireless communication between the wireless device and at least one other wireless device, a direct data transmission resource offset, and information associated with a direct data transmission resource bitmap, the direct data transmission resource bitmap comprising at least one bit having bit value of 1;
• and
• upon receiving the common configuration information, the wireless device is to:
• determine, based on the direct data allocation period, the direct data transmission resource offset, and a length of the direct data transmission resource bitmap, a number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap;
• determine, based on the number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap, a pool of communication resources in a period associated with the direct data transmission resource bitmap, the pool of communication resources corresponding to direct data transmission resources;
• and
• transmit, from the wireless device and based on the pool of communication resources, data to the at least one other wireless device, wherein the pool of communication resources is associated with the bit value of 1 of the direct data transmission resource bitmap and has a repetitive pattern in the period associated with the direct data transmission resource bitmap and wherein the direct data allocation period is repeated a plurality of times and, for each direct data allocation period, the direct data transmission resource offset precedes a first direct data transmission resource bitmap of the number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap.

A base station, comprising

• a processor;
• and
• memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the base station to:
• transmit, to a wireless device, common configuration information associated with a direct data transmission resource, the common configuration information comprising an indication of a direct data allocation period for wireless communication between the wireless device and at least one other wireless device, a direct data transmission resource offset, and information associated with a direct data transmission resource bitmap, the direct data transmission resource bitmap comprising at least one bit having bit value of 1;
• and
• upon receiving the common configuration information, the wireless device is to:
• determine, based on the direct data allocation period, the direct data transmission resource offset, and a length of the direct data transmission resource bitmap, a number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap;
• determine, based on the number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap, a pool of communication resources in a period associated with the direct data transmission resource bitmap, the pool of communication resources corresponding to direct data transmission resources;
• and
• transmit, from the wireless device and based on the pool of communication resources, data to the at least one other wireless device, wherein the pool of communication resources is associated with the bit value of 1 of the direct data transmission resource bitmap and has a repetitive pattern in the period associated with the direct data transmission resource bitmap and wherein the direct data allocation period is repeated a plurality of times and, for each direct data allocation period, the direct data transmission resource offset precedes a first direct data transmission resource bitmap of the number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap.

One or more non-transitory computer readable storage media encoded with instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform operations for a base station, comprising:

• transmitting, to a wireless device, common configuration information associated with a direct data transmission resource, the common configuration information comprising an indication of a direct data allocation period for wireless communication between the wireless device and at least one other wireless device, a direct data transmission resource offset, and information associated with a direct data transmission resource bitmap, the direct data transmission resource bitmap comprising at least one bit having bit value of 1;
• and
• upon receiving the common configuration information, the wireless device is to:
• determine, based on the direct data allocation period, the direct data transmission resource offset, and a length of the direct data transmission resource bitmap, a number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap;
• determine, based on the number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap, a pool of communication resources in a period associated with the direct data transmission resource bitmap, the pool of communication resources corresponding to direct data transmission resources;
• and
• transmit, from the wireless device and based on the pool of communication resources, data to the at least one other wireless device, wherein the pool of communication resources is associated with the bit value of 1 of the direct data transmission resource bitmap and has a repetitive pattern in the period associated with the direct data transmission resource bitmap and wherein the direct data allocation period is repeated a plurality of times and, for each direct data allocation period, the direct data transmission resource offset precedes a first direct data transmission resource bitmap of the number of repetitions of the direct data transmission resource bitmap.
