A method performed by user equipment, including: receiving, by user equipment, a configuration by a network for a beam failure recovery procedure/parameter of each transmit/receive point of a serving cell; and for each transmit/receive point configured with a reference signal set for beam failure detection and/or beam failure recovery, if a medium access control entity receives a beam failure instance of a physical layer indicating the transmit/receive point, and if the medium access control entity considers that a beam failure has occurred at the transmit/receive point, initiating, according to a beam failure detection and recovery situation of another transmit/receive point in the serving cell, a random access procedure or a sounding reference procedure to perform beam failure recovery.
