Abstract
The present application relates to devices and components including apparatus, systems, and methods for employing subnetworks to communicate with cellular networks.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- performing, with a first subnetwork control plane (snCP) layer, control plane signaling with a second snCP layer, the second snCP layer associated with a node of a subnetwork that is coupled with a radio access network (RAN), wherein the subnetwork is managed by a management node (MN);
- and
- processing, based on the control plane signaling, data received from the RAN or transmitted to the RAN.
One or more non-transitory, computer-readable media having instructions that, when executed, cause processing circuitry to:
- receive, from a user equipment (UE), a subnetwork configuration preference;
- generate, based on the subnetwork configuration preference, configuration parameters to configure a subnetwork user plane for transmitting data to the UE via a subnetwork or receiving data from the UE via a subnetwork;
- and
- output the configuration parameters for transmission to the UE.

An apparatus comprising:
- interface circuitry;
- and
- processing circuitry coupled with the interface circuitry, the processing circuitry to:
- generate, with a subnetwork-routing protocol (SN-RP) layer, an SN-RP packet that includes a header having a first field to indicate a user equipment (UE) identifier (ID), a second field to indicate a type of mapping information;
- and a third field to include mapping information of the type;
- and
- output, via the interface circuitry, the SN-RP packet for transmission to a subnetwork node via a direct connection over a local link.
