Combined high-altitude and terrestrial overshoot detection

An analytics system comprising:

• processing circuitry and memory circuitry, the memory circuitry containing instructions executable by the processing circuitry such that the analytics system is configured to:
• perform a high-altitude overshoot detection procedure and a terrestrial overshoot detection procedure;
• detect a plurality of overshooting events occurring within a communication network, each overshooting event being detected by either the high-altitude overshoot detection procedure or the terrestrial overshoot detection procedure;
• and
• responsive to a base station within the communication network being associated with more than a threshold number of the overshooting events, configure the base station to use a previous antenna tilt that produced overshooting events at a lower rate relative to a current antenna tilt of the base station.

A computer storage medium storing a computer program comprising instructions which, when executed on processing circuitry of an analytics system, cause the processing circuitry to perform a method, the method comprising:

• performing a high-altitude overshoot detection procedure and a terrestrial overshoot detection procedure;
• detecting a plurality of overshooting events occurring within a communication network, each overshooting event being detected by either the high-altitude overshoot detection procedure or the terrestrial overshoot detection procedure;
• and
• responsive to a base station within the communication network being associated with more than a threshold number of the overshooting events, configuring the base station to use a previous antenna tilt that produced overshooting events at a lower rate relative to a current antenna tilt of the base station.
