User-based content filtering

A system, comprising

• one or more memories;
• at least one processor each coupled to at least one of the memories and configured to perform operations for user-based content filtering, the operations comprising:
• identifying a type of content indicated by a user profile associated with a request for a content item;
• identifying an occurrence of the type of content within the content item;
• generating filtering data that comprises one or more instructions for user devices to alter or obfuscate causes a visual representation of the occurrence of the type of content to be altered or obfuscated during playback;
• and
• sending the content item and the filtering data to a user device associated with the user profile.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, cause the at least one computing device to perform operations for user-based content filtering, the operations comprising:

• identifying a type of content indicated by a user profile associated with a request for a content item;
• identifying an occurrence of the type of content within the content item;
• generating filtering data that comprises one or more instructions for user devices to alter or obfuscate causes a visual representation of the occurrence of the type of content to be altered or obfuscated during playback;
• and
• sending the content item and the filtering data to a user device associated with the user profile.
