Robotic Roaming Test System

A method comprising:

• obtaining, with a set of processors of a circuitry, a path that traverses a region that receives wireless signals from at least one access point of a plurality of access points;
• controlling a motor to move a sensor platform along the path, wherein:
• the motor is attached to the sensor platform;
• the circuitry control the motor;
• and
• the circuitry is in communication with a set of interfaces to receive messages from a set of mobile computing devices attached to the sensor platform;
• collecting, using a wireless receiver, a set of wireless signal values, wherein each signal measurement is associated with a signal transmitted by an access point of the plurality of access points;
• determining a result indicating that the set of wireless signal values satisfy a set of anomaly criteria indicating a signal handoff at a location of the sensor platform;
• in response to the result indicating that the set of wireless signal values satisfies the set of anomaly criteria, stopping the motor at the location;
• and
• storing the location in a set of locations indicating handoff locations.

A set of non-transitory, machine-readable media storing program instructions that, when executed by a circuitry, causes the circuitry to perform operations comprising:

• retrieving a path along a physical space, wherein the path traverses a region that receives wireless signals from at least one access point of a plurality of access points;
• controlling a motor to move a sensor platform along the path, wherein:
• the motor is attached to the sensor platform;
• the circuitry control the motor;
• and
• the circuitry is in communication with a set of interfaces to receive messages from a set of mobile computing devices attached to the sensor platform;
• collecting, using a wireless receiver, a set of wireless signal values, wherein each signal measurement is associated with a signal transmitted by an access point of the plurality of access points;
• determining whether the set of wireless signal values satisfy a set of anomaly criteria at a location;
• in response to a determination that the set of wireless signal values satisfies the set of anomaly criteria, stopping the motor at the location;
• and
• storing the location in a set of locations.
