Waveguides and waveguide sensors with signal-improving grooves

An antenna assembly, comprising:

• an antenna slot array comprising one or more elongated antenna slots each extending along an elongated axis, wherein each antenna slot of the antenna slot array is positioned and configured to deliver electromagnetic radiation therethrough;
• and
• an isolation groove array comprising a plurality of isolation grooves, wherein the isolation groove array comprises a plurality of isolation grooves positioned adjacent to the plurality of antenna slots, wherein at least a portion of at least a subset of the plurality of isolation grooves extends parallel to an elongated axis of adjacent antenna slot of the plurality of antenna slots, and wherein at least a portion of at least a subset of the plurality of isolation grooves extends perpendicular to an elongated axis of an adjacent antenna slot of the plurality of antenna slots.

An antenna assembly, comprising:

• an antenna slot array comprising a plurality of antenna slots extending between opposing surfaces of a unitary structure of the antenna assembly;
• and
• a plurality of elongated grooves positioned adjacent to at least one of the antenna slots of the antenna slot array, wherein each of at least a subset of the plurality of elongated grooves is defined, at least in part, by a ridge formed along an antenna side of the unitary structure.
