Energy storage module

An energy storage module comprising:

• battery cells each comprising a vent;
• a cover member comprising an internal receiving space configured to accommodate the battery cells;
• a top plate coupled to a top of the cover member and comprising ducts each corresponding to the vent of a battery cell of the battery cells;
• a top cover coupled to a top portion of the top plate and comprising discharge holes located in an exhaust area and corresponding to the ducts;
• and
• an extinguisher sheet located between the top cover and the top plate, and configured to emit a fire extinguishing agent to a space between adjacent battery cells of the battery cells at a temperature exceeding a certain temperature,
• wherein the top cover comprises protrusion parts located on a bottom surface of the top cover, covering the exhaust area, and each coupled to an exterior of a corresponding duct of the ducts,
• the protrusion parts and the ducts are overlapped along a length direction of the top cover,
• upper surfaces of the ducts are higher than lower surfaces of the protrusion parts,
• a gas discharged from the vent passes through the ducts and is discharged into a spacing between the ducts and the protrusion parts, and
• a plurality of discharge holes of the discharge holes corresponds to a corresponding one of the ducts, and each of the plurality of discharge holes has a respective width in the first direction that is less than a width of a passage in the first direction of the corresponding one of the ducts.
