A negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery, comprising:

• a negative electrode current collector,
• a negative electrode active layer disposed on at least one side of the negative electrode current collector and including a carbon-based negative electrode active material, and
• a negative electrode tab drawn out to one side of the negative electrode active layer and provided on a non-coating portion that does not include the negative electrode active layer on the negative electrode current collector;
• wherein the negative electrode active layer is divided into a first region to an nth region, where 2≤n≤10, each region having a same length ratio with respect to a total length of the negative electrode active layer based on a thickness direction cross-sectional structure in which the negative electrode tabs is provided on one side, and sequentially arranged from a first side portion from which the negative electrode tab is withdrawn to a second side portion opposite thereto;
• wherein an alignment of the carbon-based negative electrode active material represented by Equation 1 increases from the first region to the nth region:
