Rescue Performance Metrics for CPR and Traumatic Brain Injury

A defibrillation and monitoring system for providing emergency therapy for a patient, the system comprising:

• at least one defibrillator configured to provide defibrillation therapy to the patient;
• at least one physiological sensor configured to be coupled to the patient and detect physiological signals of the patient;
• at least one airflow sensor configured to be positioned in an airflow path of an airway of the patient and detect ventilation signals representative of ventilation breaths;
• at least one visual display configured to provide visual feedback about treatment of the patient;
• and
• at least one controller in communication with the at least one defibrillator, the at least one physiological sensor, the at least one airflow sensor, and the at least one visual display, the at least one controller configured to:
• provide one or more defibrillation shocks to the patient when defibrillation therapy is required,
• receive and process the physiological signals detected by the at least one physiological sensor and the ventilation signals detected by the at least one airflow sensor,
• determine one or more ventilation parameters based on the processed ventilation signals,
• provide ventilation feedback as to whether the one or more ventilation parameters fall within an acceptable target range, and
• cause a countdown timer indication to be displayed on the at least one visual display which counts down an interval time for when a ventilation breath should be delivered to the patient.
