Image sensor and image-capturing device that selects pixel signal for focal position

An image-capturing device comprising:

• an image sensor including:
• a plurality of first pixels each having a first photoelectric conversion unit that photoelectrically converts light having transmitted through an optical system including a zoom lens and a first light blocking unit that blocks part of light entering the first photoelectric conversion unit, the plurality of first pixels outputting a first signal based on photoelectric conversion at the first photoelectric conversion unit;
• and
• a plurality of second pixels each having a second photoelectric conversion unit that photoelectrically converts light having transmitted through the optical system and generates an electric charge and a second light blocking unit that blocks part of light entering the second photoelectric conversion unit, the plurality of second pixels outputting a second signal based on photoelectric conversion at the second photoelectric conversion unit;
• and
• a control unit that obtains information regarding a position of an exit pupil according to a change in a zoom position of the zoom lens, selects one of the first pixels and the second pixels based on the information that has been obtained, and performs focus detection based on the signal output from the selected pixels.
