Abstract
The disclosed display system may include a projector including a light source configured to output light at an exit pupil, and a retroreflector configured to redirect the light from the exit pupil toward a relayed pupil. The display system may also include one or more beamsplitters, pupil steering elements, and/or waveguides. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

A display system comprising:
- a projector including a light source configured to output light at an exit pupil;
- and
- a retroreflector configured to redirect the light from the exit pupil toward a relayed pupil.
A head-wearable display device comprising:
- a projector including a light source configured to output light at an exit pupil;
- and
- a retroreflector configured to redirect the light from the exit pupil toward a relayed pupil.
The artificial reality system of claim 19, wherein the display further comprises one or more pupil steering elements for steering the relayed pupil spatially within an eyebox of a user, wherein the relayed pupil corresponds to an eye pupil of the user.
