Image atlas systems and methods

A method of analysis of sample particles from a biological sample, comprising:

• capturing, using an image capturing device, an image of the sample particles;
• receiving, with a processor, from the image capturing device, a plurality of sample images of particles including the image of the sample particles as captured;
• displaying, with the processor, the plurality of sample images on a user interface;
• receiving, with the processor, a user selection of one of the plurality of sample images as displayed on the user interface;
• selecting, with the processor, a plurality of reference images from a database of reference images, each of the reference images being an image of a reference particle, each of the reference images having an associated tag, each of the plurality of reference images selected based on their respective tag;
• and
• displaying, with the processor, the plurality of reference images on the user interface.
