Abstract

System, apparatus and methods for measuring air conditioning output temperature to ensure the proper amount of refrigerant for recharging an A/C vehicle coolant system, such as an automobile coolant system, are disclosed. In one aspect the disclosure features a system for servicing a vehicle coolant system, the system comprising: (a) a temperature sensor configured to transmit air vent temperature information at an output air vent of an air conditioning system within a vehicle passenger compartment, (b) a portable electronic computing device configured to receive the air vent temperature information and transmit actuating commands, and (c) a control unit in fluid communication with a pressurized canister containing a refrigerant, the pressurized canister including a plunger valve, the control unit being configured to actuate the plunger valve in response to actuating commands received from the portable electronic computing device.
