Abstract
Embodiments presented provide for a method for in situ quantification of bonding between a wellbore casing and the surrounding media. Quantification may be established through acoustical sampling of the interface to determine appropriate relationships between the casing and the surrounding media.
Claims12
A method for in-situ quantification of a bond between a casing and a surrounding annular fill, comprising:
- sending ultrasonic signals to a desired location of a wellbore casing wherein the bond is to be determined;
- receiving reflected ultrasonic signals from the desired location;
- inverting the received reflected ultrasonic signals;
- and
- processing the inverted received ultrasonic signals to produce at least one physical parameter of an annual fill at the interface location.
