Systems and methods of direct air capture are described. A method of fan speed control in a direct air capture (DAC) system includes actuating a first fan to produce a first airflow and a second fan to produce a second airflow. The first fan is disposed proximate to a first portion of the DAC system, and a plurality of adsorber panels are configured to be translated through the DAC system through at least the first portion and then subsequently through a second portion of the DAC system. The second fan is disposed proximate to the second portion of the DAC system, and a flow rate of the second airflow is less than the flow rate of the first airflow. Both the first airflow and the second airflow are configured to flow through the plurality of adsorber panels and be discharged through the first fan to an external environment.
