Abstract
A method for treating a patient includes providing a delivery device capable of generating a magnetic field, placing the device above or below the skin, and directing the agent into the patient's skin via the device. The therapeutic agent is directed to a treatment site through the skin. Systems for directing agents are also included herein.
Claims15
A skin patch for delivering one or more therapeutic agents into a skin comprising:
- (a) a magnetic injection device comprising a plurality of permanent magnets integrated inside a segment of the skin patch device;
- and
- (b) magnetic nanoparticles comprising the one or more therapeutic agents, wherein the magnetic nanoparticles comprise a diameter of about 10 nm to about 800 nm,
- wherein, the skin patch is configurable to glue or adhere directly onto the skin, wherein a plurality of magnetic fields produced by the plurality of permanent magnets creates magnetic forces that push the magnetic nanoparticles into and through the skin, and wherein the magnetic forces direct the magnetic nanoparticles to a treatment site.
