Abstract
A communication method includes sending, by a first terminal, description information of a target application to a second terminal; receiving, by the first terminal, response information sent by the second terminal, where the response information is determined by the second terminal based on the description information of the target application; and determining, by the first terminal based on the response information, whether to communicate with the second terminal through the target application.

A communication method, comprising:
- sending, by a first terminal, description information of a target application to a second terminal;
- receiving, by the first terminal, response information sent by the second terminal, wherein the response information is determined by the second terminal based on the description information of the target application;
- and
- determining, by the first terminal based on the response information, whether to communicate with the second terminal through the target application.

- receiving, by the second terminal, description information of a target application sent by a first terminal;
- determining, by the second terminal, response information based on the description information of the target application, wherein the response information is used by the first terminal to determine whether to communicate with the second terminal through the target application;
- and

- receiving, by a target data channel server through a first bootstrap data channel, a second message sent by a first terminal, wherein the second message comprises description information of a target application;
- determining, by the target data channel server, a second terminal;
