A method of installing a fiber optic cable assembly that includes a fiber optic cable carrying a plurality of optical fibers and a plurality of terminal assembly coupled to the fiber optic cable at a location along a length of the fiber optic cable, wherein a subset of the plurality of optical fibers carried by the fiber optic cable is terminated at each terminal assembly of the plurality of terminal assemblies, and wherein each terminal assembly of the he plurality of terminal assemblies includes at least one fiber optic adapter optically connected to the subset of optical fibers terminated at the respective terminal assembly, the at least one fiber optic adapter being rotatable about an axis of the fiber optic cable from a first circumferential position to a second circumferential position different from the first circumferential position, the method comprising:
- placing the fiber optic cable assembly on a surface with the fiber optic cable extended to the length with the plurality of terminal assemblies spaced apart between a first end of the fiber optic cable assembly and a second end of the fiber optic cable assembly along the length;
- and
- moving a portion of one of the terminal assemblies relative to the fiber optic cable and parallel to an axis of the fiber optic cable to an unlocked position;
- while at the unlocked position, rotating at least the at least one adapter of the terminal assembly from the first circumferential position relative to the axis to the second circumferential position relative to the axis to reposition the at least one fiber optic adapter relative to the fiber optic cable.
