Power cable monitoring system and method for manufacturing sensor rope

A power cable monitoring system comprising:

• a power cable including a power transmission cable provided at an inner circumferential part, an armoring wire formed by a first strand wire and provided at an outer circumferential part, and an armored optical module having an optical fiber to detect a physical quantity of a measurement target, and including a first sensor rope having a second strand wire helically covering the optical fiber and joined to the optical fiber via resin over an entire length in an axial direction;
• and
• a backscattering light measurement device which measures distribution of the physical quantity of the measurement target, using backscatterinq light from the optical fiber, wherein
• distribution of temperature and strain of the power cable is obtained from frequency shift signals of Rayleigh backscatterinq light and Brillouin backscatterinq light obtained by the backscattering light measurement device on the basis of a signal detected by the armored optical module.
