Abstract
A nanomedicinal composition comprising a nanocarrier and a pharmaceutical agent mixture comprising an anti-cancer therapeutic and an antioxidant. The nanocarrier comprises a porous silicate matrix and particles of a magnetic ferrite disposed in the pores of the porous silicate matrix. The pharmaceutical agent mixture is disposed in the pores and/or on the surface of the nanocarrier by a solution phase impregnation process. The nanomedicinal composition is used in a method of treating breast cancer.
Claims16
1-2. (canceled)
The method of claim 19, wherein the mesosilicalite is in the form of particles having a mean particle size of 25 to 500 nm.
(canceled)
The method of claim 19, wherein the magnetic ferrite is present in the nanomedicinal composition an amount of 15 to 45 wt % based on a total weight of the nanocarrier.
The method of claim 19, wherein the magnetic ferrite has a mean particle size of 5 to 50 nm.
(canceled)
The method of claim 19, wherein the pharmaceutical agent mixture further comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of carboplatin and oxaliplatin.
(canceled)
The method of claim 19, wherein the pharmaceutical agent mixture further comprises tamoxifen.
The method of claim 19, wherein the nanomedicinal composition further comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of quercetin, rutin, coenzyme Q10, and gallic acid.
(canceled)
The method of claim 19, wherein a weight ratio of the curcumin to the cisplatin is 1:1 to 10:1 in the nonmedicinal composition.
The method of claim 19, wherein the pharmaceutical agent mixture is present in the nanomedicinal composition in an amount of 5 to 50 wt %, based on a total weight of nanomedicinal composition.

A method for treating a subject having a breast cancer with a hyperthermal agent, comprising:
- administering to the subject a pharmaceutical composition comprising a nanomedicinal composition of,
- after delivery of the nanomedicinal composition to a breast cancer tumor site in the subject, exposing the subject to an alternating magnetic field, thereby raising the temperature of the nanomedicinal composition in the subject to hyperthermially treat the breast cancer;
- wherein the nanomedicinal composition comprises:
- a nanocarrier comprising:
- mesosilicalite, wherein the mesosilicalite includes a microphase having a microporous volume in the range of 0.05 cc/g to 0.1 cc/g;
- and
- particles of a magnetic ferrite of formula MFe2O4 disposed in the pores of the mesosilicalite, where M is Cu;
- and
- a pharmaceutical agent mixture comprising cisplatin and curcumin disposed in the pores and/or on a surface of the nanocarrier;
- wherein the nanocarrier has a BET surface area of 70 m2/g and an average pore volume of 0.1 cm3/g,
- wherein the nanomedicinal composition releases 88% of the cisplatin and 40-50% of the curcumin over 72 hours in a solution with a pH of 5.6.
