Abstract
A device includes a light source, a camera, a memory and a processor. The light source emits emission light to a wound at a plurality of wavelengths. The camera detects backscattered light generated based on the emission light. The memory stores instructions. The processor executes the instructions. When executed by the processor, the instructions cause the device to record an image based on the backscattered light; quantify a degree of infection of the wound based on the image, and output an indication of the degree of infection.
Claims15
A device, comprising:
- a light source that emits emission light to a wound at a plurality of wavelengths;
- a camera that detects backscattered light generated based on the emission light;
- a memory that stores instructions;
- and
- a processor that executes the instructions, wherein, when executed by the processor, the instructions cause the device to:
- record an image based on the backscattered light;
- quantify a degree of infection of the wound based on the image, and
- output an indication of the degree of infection.
A method for quantifying a degree of an infection, comprising:
- emitting, by a light source of a device, emission light to a wound at a plurality of wavelengths;
- detecting, by a camera of the device, backscattered light generated based on the emission light;
- recording an image based on the backscattered light;
- quantifying a degree of infection of the wound based on the image, and
- outputting, from the device, an indication of whether the wound is infected.
