Device modification state validation

A system, the system comprising:

• a wireless communication mechanism;
• a processor operatively connected to the wireless communication mechanism;
• a memory device that stores instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the system to:
• receive, at a device validation system and utilizing the wireless communication mechanism, current state information identifying a current configuration of a device;
• obtain, using the device validation system and from a data store comprising trusted state information for a plurality of devices, trusted state information for the device that identifies a trusted configuration of the device;
• identify, using the device validation system, a modification state of the device by comparing the current state information to the trusted state information of the device;
• and
• provide, at an output component of the device validation system, a notification indicating whether the device has been modified from the trusted state information based upon the identified modification state of the device.

A product, the product comprising:

• a computer-readable storage device that stores executable code that, when executed by a processor, causes the product to:
• receive, at a device validation system and utilizing a wireless communication mechanism, current state information identifying a current configuration of a device;
• obtain, using the device validation system and from a data store comprising trusted state information for a plurality of devices, trusted state information for the device that identifies a trusted configuration of the device;
• identify, using the device validation system, a modification state of the device by comparing the current state information to the trusted state information of the device;
• and
• provide, at an output component of the device validation system, a notification indicating whether the device has been modified from the trusted state information based upon the identified modification state of the device.
