A method for creating a fuel cell may include creating a fuel cell with a plurality of flow field channels, wherein the plurality of flow field channels may include a plurality of ribs forming a serpentine flow design from an inlet to an outlet, and a plurality of blocking ribs within the plurality of ribs.
