A method for providing supplemental nutrition to an infant in need thereof comprising adding a volume of a standardized human milk cream composition to a volume of human milk sufficient to raise the caloric content of the human milk, thereby providing supplemental nutrition to the infant, wherein the standardized human milk cream composition comprises about 18% to about 30% human milk fat and about 2.0 kcal/mL to about 3.0 kcal/mL.
