Abstract
In an embodiment, metal-organic nanowires or nanofibers comprising polymer chains with around 100 or more repeat units are synthesized. The metal-organic nanowires or nanofibers are exposed to a reactive gas at a temperature in excess of around 100° C. and at a pressure in the range from around 0.001 to around 100 atmospheres.
Claims12
A ceramic nanowire arrangement, comprising:
- a plurality of ceramic-comprising nanowires, each of the plurality of ceramic-comprising nanowires comprising (i) oxygen (O) and (ii) aluminum (Al) and/or magnesium (Mg),
- wherein:
- at least some of the plurality of ceramic-comprising nanowires are present as one or more bundles thereof, each of the one or more bundles having a diameter in a range of about 50 to 200 nm.
