Abstract
A healthcare data system. The system comprises a data protection entity configured to: sign at least a portion of a routing header of a data packet with a private key held by the data protection entity, the data packet including a payload and a routing header, the payload including healthcare data and the routing header indicating an intended consumer of the data packet; and transmit the data packet on towards the intended consumer. The healthcare data system further comprises one or more data receivers, each configured to: receive the data packet; and verify the signed routing header.
Claims20
A healthcare data system, comprising:
- a data protection entity, configured to:
- sign at least a portion of a routing header of a data packet with a private key held by the data protection entity, the data packet including a payload and a routing header, the payload including healthcare data and the routing header indicating an intended consumer of the data packet;
- and
- transmit the data packet over a computer network on towards the intended consumer;
- the healthcare data system further comprising:
- one or more data receivers, each configured to:
- receive the transmitted data packet;
- and
- verify the signed routing header.
A computer-implemented data protection entity, connectable within a computer network and a healthcare data system to a data source and a data consumer, the data protection entity being configured to:
- receive, from the data source, a data packet including a payload;
- determine a routing header, the routing header indicating the intended consumer of the data packet;
- sign at least a portion of the routing header with a private key held by the data protection entity;
- and
- transmit the data packet on toward the data consumer.
A computer-implemented method comprising steps of:
- receiving, by a data protection entity, a data packet including a payload and a routing header, the payload including healthcare data and the routing header indicating an intended data consumer of the data packet;
- signing, by the data protection entity, at least a portion of the routing header with a private key held by the data protection entity;
- and
- transmitting, by the data protection entity, the data packet on to one or more data receivers, the or each data receiver:
- receiving the data packet;
- and
- verifying the signed routing header.
