Digital table game systems and methods

A method performed by a gaming system including at least one processor in communication with at least one electronic gaming device, the at least one electronic gaming device in communication with a reader device, the method comprising:

• storing a tagged item record in a database, the tagged item record including a tag ID of a first tagged item and an amount of play credits associated with the first tagged item;
• receiving a tag detection message from the electronic gaming device including the tag ID, the tag detection message generated by the electronic gaming device in response to the reader device detecting a presence of the first tagged item;
• performing a lookup in the database to determine the amount of play credits associated with the first tagged item based on the tag ID;
• and
• transmitting a response message including the amount of play credits to the electronic gaming device, the response message causing the electronic gaming device to increment a first credit meter by the amount of play credits associated with the first tagged item.

At least one non-transitory computer-readable storage media having computer-executable instructions embodied thereon, wherein when executed by at least one processor in communication with at least one electronic gaming device, the at least one electronic gaming device in communication with a reader device, the computer-executable instructions cause the at least one processor to:

• store a tagged item record in a database, the tagged item record including a tag ID of a first tagged item and an amount of play credits associated with the first tagged item;
• receive a tag detection message from the electronic gaming device including the tag ID, the tag detection message generated by the electronic gaming device in response to the reader device detecting a presence of the first tagged item;
• look up the amount of play credits associated with the first tagged item from the database based on the tag ID;
• and
• transmit a response message including the amount of play credits to the electronic gaming device, the response message causing the electronic gaming device to increment a first credit meter by the amount of play credits associated with the first tagged item.
