Abstract
The present disclosure relates to systems, apparatuses and methods for efficiently manufacturing telecommunications enclosure customized to meet customer needs. The system can include a terminal housing and port units bondable to the terminal housing.
Claims24
A method for manufacturing a telecommunications enclosure, the telecommunications enclosure including a terminal housing, the terminal housing including an opening surrounded by a first bonding interface, the method comprising:
- providing a fiber optic cable includes a plurality of optical fibers:
- attaching the optical fibers to the port unit:
- separating the optical fibers with a separator cap;
- and
- bonding the second bonding interface of the selected port unit to the first bonding interface.

A telecommunications enclosure comprising:
- a terminal housing including an opening surrounded by a first bonding interface;
- a port unit having an attachment plate including a second bonding interface that is bonded with the first bonding interface such that the attachment plate covers the opening, the port unit including a cable securement location that projects outwardly from the attachment plate;
- and
- a fiber optic cable affixed to the port unit at the cable securement location, the fiber optic cable including a plurality of optical fibers routed through the port unit into an interior of the terminal housing;
- a separator cap for separating the optical fibers.
