Methods for treating cancer, and for reducing angiogenesis in a tissue, comprising administering one or more of a miR-371 oligonucleotide; a miR-146 oligonucleotide; or an inhibitor of MLK2/3 activity.

A method of decreasing angiogenesis in a tissue, wherein the tissue is not a tumor, the method comprising delivering to the tissue one or more compositions comprising:
- a miR-371 oligonucleotide;
- a miR-146 oligonucleotide;
- and/or
- an inhibitor of MLK2/3.
