Abstract
According to the invention there is provided an antimicrobial agent for use in maintaining or re-establishing a healthy genital microbiome, wherein the antimicrobial agent is a predatory bacterium.

A formulation comprising:
- a) a composition comprising an antimicrobial agent and one or more excipients;
- and
- b) one or more silicon-based polymers.
A method of maintaining or re-establishing a subject's healthy genital microbiome the method comprising administering a predatory bacterium to the external genital area of the subject and/or the vagina of the subject.
A method of prophylaxis or treatment of a gram-negative bacterial infection in a subject in need thereof the method comprising administering a predatory bacterium to the external genital area of the subject and/or the vagina of the subject.
A method of manufacturing a composition comprising Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus (Bdello) as an antimicrobial agent, wherein the Bdello is:
- a) cultured;
- b) isolated;
- c) combined with one or more excipients;
- and
- d) freeze-dried or spray-dried.
