Adaptive temperature control for cooking includes recognizing a type of a cookware object that is in a presence of a cooking device. It further includes controlling a heating element of the cooking device according to a set of closed loop temperature control parameters corresponding to the recognized type of the cookware object.

A cooking device, comprising:
- a heating element;
- one or more processors configured to:
- recognize a type of a cookware object that is in a presence of the cooking device;
- and
- control the heating element of the cooking device according to a set of closed loop temperature control parameters corresponding to the recognized type of the cookware object;
- and
- a memory coupled to the one or more processors and configured to provide the one or more processors with instructions.
