Abstract
A refrigerator includes a cabinet which has a storage space; a door which opens and closes the storage space; a hinge which rotatably connects the cabinet and the door; and a damping device which is provided on the door and provides a damping force through oil resistance, in which the hinge is in contact with the damping device while the door is rotated in the closing direction and causes the stroke of the damping device to increase to slow down the door.
Claims20
A refrigerator comprising:
- a cabinet having a storage space;
- a first door configured to open and close at least a portion of the storage space;
- a hinge connecting the first door to the cabinet, the hinge having a contact surface;
- and
- a damper located on the first door, the damper being in contact with the contact surface of the hinge over a portion of a rotation of the first door in a closing direction to slow down a rotational speed of the first door,
- wherein the damper includes a first damping state configured to exert a first damping force and a second damping state configured to exert a second damping force, and
- wherein the first damping force is greater than the second damping force.
