Abstract
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network node, a communication associated with an indication that the communication is associated with a proximity service. The UE may communicate based at least in part on the proximity service. Numerous other aspects are described.

A user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- one or more processors, coupled to the memory, configured to:
- transmit, to a network entity, a communication associated with an indication that the communication is associated with a proximity service;
- and
- communicate based at least in part on the proximity service.
A network entity for wireless communication, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- one or more processors, coupled to the memory, configured to:
- receive a communication associated with a source UE, the communicating being associated with an indication that the communication is associated with a proximity service;
- and
- provide the communication for a destination UE, wherein a route for the communication to the destination UE excludes a core network or an application server based at least in part on the indication.
A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
- transmitting, to a network entity, a communication associated with an indication that the communication is associated with a proximity service;
- and
- communicating based at least in part on the proximity service.
A method of wireless communication performed by a network entity, comprising:
- receiving a communication associated with a source UE, the communicating being associated with an indication that the communication is associated with a proximity service;
- and
- providing the communication for a destination UE, wherein a route for the communication to the destination UE excludes a core network or an application server based at least in part on the indication.
