Abstract
Disclosed is a soap composition comprising 45 to 75 wt % total fatty matter: 0.1 to 3 wt % electrolyte comprising sodium sulphate; silica gel; and 15 to 30 wt % moisture. The invention also provides process of making high moisture soap bars with good hardness by in situ generation of silica gel during the soap making process.
Claims17
A soap composition comprising:
- i. 45 to 75 wt % total fatty matter;
- ii. 0.1 to 3 wt % electrolyte comprising sodium sulphate;
- iii. silica gel;
- and
- iv. 15 to 30 wt % moisture,
- wherein the soap composition comprises less than 1% by weight of an acrylic/acrylate polymer.
The process according to claim from 9, wherein, silica gel is generated in situ by reaction of the alkaline silicate salt and bicarbonate salt.
The process according to claims from 9, wherein the sodium sulphate is added in the range of 0.1 to 1.5 wt % of total weight of the composition.
