Abstract
A display panel includes a base layer that includes a display area and a non-display area adjacent to the display area, a plurality of emission elements on the display area, and an encapsulation layer that includes an organic layer and an inorganic layer in contact with a bottom surface of the organic layer. The organic layer may be on the plurality of emission elements. The inorganic layer may include an oxygen atom and a silicon atom. In the inorganic layer, a top surface of a portion that overlaps the display area and a top surface of a portion that overlaps the non-display area have a substantially identical surface roughness.
Claims20
A display panel, comprising:
- a base layer which includes a display area and a non-display area adjacent to the display area;
- a plurality of emission elements on the display area;
- and
- an encapsulation layer which includes an organic layer and an inorganic layer in contact with a bottom surface of the organic layer, the organic layer being on the plurality of emission elements, and the inorganic layer including an oxygen atom and a silicon atom,
- wherein, in the inorganic layer, a top surface of a portion which overlaps the display area and a top surface of a portion which overlaps the non-display area have a substantially identical surface roughness.
A method of fabricating a display panel, the method comprising:
- providing a mother substrate on which is formed an organic emission element which includes an anode, an emission layer, and a cathode on a display area;
- providing the mother substrate with plasma;
- providing the display area with a deposition gas to form a preliminary inorganic layer;
- stopping providing the deposition gas;
- removing at least a portion of the preliminary inorganic layer to form an inorganic layer;
- and
- removing the plasma,
- wherein the at least a portion of the preliminary inorganic layer is removed with the plasma.
A method of fabricating a display panel, the method comprising:
- providing a mother substrate on which is formed an organic emission element which includes an anode, an emission layer, and a cathode on a display area;
- providing the mother substrate with plasma;
- providing the display area with a deposition gas to form a preliminary inorganic layer;
- stopping providing the deposition gas;
- removing at least a portion of the preliminary inorganic layer to form an inorganic layer;
- and
- removing the plasma,
- wherein removing the plasma is performed after stopping providing the deposition gas.
