Random access timeline for a reduced capability device

A first network node for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled to the memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
• transmit first information that is indicative of a bandwidth capability of the first network node;
• transmit a first random access message;
• receive, based on the first random access message and via a quantity of physical resource blocks, a second random access message that indicates a time period for transmission, by the first network node, of a third random access message responsive to the second random access message, wherein the time period is based on a threshold time period associated with the bandwidth capability of the first network node, and wherein the threshold time period is based on the quantity of physical resource blocks;
• and
• transmit the third random access message during a time window that is based on the time period.

A method for wireless communication at a first network node, comprising:

• receiving first information that is indicative of a bandwidth capability of a second network node;
• receiving a first random access message;
• and
• transmitting, based on the first random access message and via a quantity of physical resource blocks, a second random access message that indicates a time period for transmission, by the second network node, of a third random access message responsive to the second random access message, wherein the time period is based on a threshold time period associated with the bandwidth capability of the second network node, and wherein the threshold time period is based on the quantity of physical resource blocks.

A method for wireless communication at a first network node, comprising:

• transmitting first information that is indicative of a bandwidth capability of the first network node;
• transmitting a first random access message;
• receiving, based on the first random access message and via a quantity of physical resource blocks, a second random access message that indicates a time period for transmission, by the first network node, of a third random access message responsive to the second random access message, wherein the time period is based on a threshold time period associated with the bandwidth capability of the first network node, and wherein the threshold time period is based on the quantity of physical resource blocks;
• and
• transmitting the third random access message during a time window that is based on the time period.
