Channel reporting for energy harvesting at a device

An apparatus for wireless communication at a first device, comprising:

• one or more memories;
• and
• one or more processors coupled with the one or more memories and configured to cause the first device to:
• transmit, to a second device, a capability of the first device to update a power ratio associated with energy harvesting at the first device;
• receive, from the second device, a signal that has a radio frequency power that is based at least in part on the capability of the first device to update the power ratio associated with the energy harvesting;
• and
• convert a portion of the radio frequency power in accordance with an updated power ratio of the energy harvesting to direct current power.

An apparatus for wireless communication at a first device, comprising:

• one or more memories;
• and
• one or more processors coupled with the one or more memories and configured to cause the first device to:
• receive, from a second device, a capability of the second device to update a power ratio associated with energy harvesting at the second device by conversion of radio frequency power to direct current power;
• and
• transmit, to the second device, a signal that has a radio frequency power that is based at least in part on the capability of the second device to update the power ratio associated with the energy harvesting.

A method for wireless communication at a first device, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a second device, a reference signal;
• determining a precoding matrix indicator based at least in part on an energy accumulation associated with application of the precoding matrix indicator to the reference signal or on both the energy accumulation and a signal quality associated with application of the precoding matrix indicator to the reference signal;
• and
• transmitting, to the second device, a channel state information report that indicates the precoding matrix indicator based at least in part on the determination.
