Systems and Methods for Combining Audio Samples

A system for combining audio tracks, comprising:

• a first computer comprising a processor and computer memory storing front-end software implementing an audio mash-up computer program;
• a remote computer comprising a remote processor and remote computer memory implementing back-end software corresponding to the audio mash-up computer program, wherein the computer and the remote computer communicate over a data communications network;
• a graphical user interface on the computer that is configured with the processor and audio mash-up computer program executing steps providing digital content on the graphical user interface for:
• identifying a plurality of selected audio files as respective audio sources of audio segments to combine into an output audio file;
• displaying the respective audio sources as representative blocks of source data;
• arranging the representative blocks into lanes of respective audio tracks displayed on the graphical user interface;
• and
• combining the respective audio tracks into the output audio file according to an arrangement of the representative blocks as displayed in the lanes of respective audio tracks, wherein the output audio file is configured for playing the respective audio tracks according to the arrangement.
