Abstract
A system for monitoring the volume of cuttings exiting a shaker table is disclosed. The system comprises a shaker table configured to be adjusted based on information compiled by a processor and at least one camera configured to monitor said shaker table. The camera may be operably connected to the processor. The processor may be configured to identify drill cuttings and estimate the volume of the cuttings exiting the shaker table using machine vision techniques.
Claims25
A computer vision system for monitoring drilling cuttings from a well bore, the computer vision system comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- at least one camera having a field of view that includes at least an edge of a shaker table, wherein the at least one camera is operably connected to the processor, wherein the processor is configured to:
- receive visual data from the at least one camera;
- identify objects in the visual data as drilling cuttings as the objects fall off the edge of the shaker table;
- estimate a volume of the identified drilling cuttings;
- and
- display the visual data on a user interface.
A computer vision system for monitoring drilling cuttings from a well bore, the computer vision system comprising:
- a processor adapted to receive visual data from at least one camera having a field of view that includes at least an edge of a shaker table;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor, wherein the memory comprises instructions executable by the processor to:
- identify objects in the visual data as drilling cuttings;
- estimate a volume of the identified drilling cuttings;
- and
- display the visual data on a user interface.
A method of monitoring drilling cuttings from a well bore, the method comprising:
- receiving, by a processor, visual data from at least one camera having a field of view that includes at least an edge of a shaker table;
- analyzing, by the processor, the visual data using and identifying, by the processor, objects in the visual data as drilling cuttings;
- estimating a volume of drilling cuttings responsive to visual data;
- and
- generating a display on a user interface, wherein the display comprises an annotated image with at least one marking identifying at least one of a fluid front, one or more drilling cuttings, or potential issues.
A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising program code, which when executed by a processor is configured to cause the processor to:
- receive visual data from at least one camera having a field of view that includes at least an edge of a shaker table;
- identify objects in the visual data as drilling cuttings;
- estimate a volume of the identified drilling cuttings;
- and
- display the visual data on a user interface.
