Abstract
Disclosed herein are poly(pyridyl)borate ligands and metal complexes comprising the poly(pyridyl)borate ligands. Also disclosed herein are methods of making and methods of using said poly(pyridyl)borate ligands and metal complexes comprising the poly(pyridyl)borate ligands. Also disclosed herein are methods of preparing a poly(pyridyl)borate ligand comprising reacting a boron precursor comprising a trifluoroborate to form the poly(pyridyl)borate ligand.
Claims20
A poly(pyridyl)borate ligand defined by Formula I:
- wherein
- R1 and R2 are independently selected from hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C4 alkyl, a substituted or unsubstituted C6-C10 aryl or C4-C10 heteroaryl, or a halogen;
- and each R3 is independently hydrogen, a halogen, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C4 alkyl, or a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C4 alkoxy.
A method of preparing a poly(pyridyl)borate ligand comprising:
- contacting a boron precursor comprising a trifluoroborate with a pyridine reagent to form the poly(pyridyl)borate ligand.
