Method and device for configuring connection of remote terminal through relay terminal in wireless communication system

A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting, to a base station, a sidelink UE information message including information indicating that the UE is acting as a relay UE and information associated with an identity of a remote UE;
• receiving, from the base station, a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message associated with a relay operation;
• and
• performing the relay operation, based on the RRC reconfiguration message.

A method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a user equipment (UE), a sidelink UE information message including information indicating that the UE is acting as a relay UE and information associated with an identity of a remote UE;
• transmitting, to the UE, a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message associated with a relay operation;
• and
• receiving uplink data from the remote UE or transmitting downlink data to the remote UE, based on the relay operation performed based on the RRC reconfiguration message.

A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• at least one processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• transmit, to a base station, a sidelink UE information message including information indicating that the UE is acting as a relay UE and information associated with an identity of a remote UE;
• receive, from the base station, a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message associated with a relay operation;
• and
• perform the relay operation, based on the RRC reconfiguration message.

A base station in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• at least one processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• receive, from a user equipment (UE), a sidelink UE information message including information indicating that the UE is acting as a relay UE and information associated with an identity of a remote UE;
• transmit, to the UE, a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message associated with a relay operation;
• and
• receive uplink data from the remote UE or transmit downlink data to the remote UE, based on the relay operation performed based on the RRC reconfiguration message.
