Interference-aware wireless communication link adaptation

A method comprising determining for a first transmission scheme, based on interference data for a gateway device, a first plurality of estimated packet success values that are each associated with a respective value for a signal metric;

• receiving first signal data from the gateway device;
• determining, based on the first signal data, a first value for the signal metric;
• determining, based on the first value for the first signal metric and at least one of the first plurality of estimated packet success values, a first estimated packet success value for the first transmission scheme;
• sending, based on the first estimated packet success value for the first transmission scheme, second data to the gateway device indicating a transmission scheme.

An electronic device comprising:

• a wireless transceiver;
• one or more processors;
• one or more computer readable media storing computer executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of the electronic device, cause the electronic device to perform operations comprising
• determining, at a first time, a first received signal strength value,
• determining, based on the first received signal strength value, a first interference value,
• sending, to a remote computing system, the first interference value,
• determining, at a second time, a second received signal strength value,
• sending, to the remote computing system, first data based on the second received signal strength value, and
• receiving, from the remote computing system, second data determined based on the first interference value and the first data, the second data indicating a first transmission scheme.
