Abstract
A network-on-chip (NoC) system includes a default communication path between a master device and a slave device, and a backup communication path between the master device and the slave device. The default communication path is configured to work in a normal operation state of the chip. The backup communication path is configured to replace the default communication path when a fault arises in the default communication path.
Claims20
A network-on-chip (NoC) system in a chip, comprising:
- a default communication path between a master processing device and a slave data device, the default communication path configured to work in a normal operation state of the chip;
- a first set of NoC modules disposed along the default communication path, the first set of NoC modules being operatively connected along the default communication path;
- a backup communication path between the master processing device and the slave data device, the backup communication path configured to replace the default communication path when a fault arises in the default communication path;
- a second set of NoC modules, the NoC modules in the second set being duplicated from one or more NoC modules in the first set, the second set of NoC modules being operatively connected along the backup communication path;
- and
- a data checker, wherein a first input of the data checker is coupled to an output of a first NoC module in the first set of NoC modules, a second input of the data checker is coupled to an output of a second NoC module in the second set of NoC modules duplicated from the first NoC module, and an output of the data checker is arranged to output a first signal indicating if the fault arises in the default communication path.
A network-on-chip (NoC) system, comprising:
- a default communication path between a master processing device and a slave data device;
- a first set of NoC modules operatively connected along the default communication path and routed via a first set of conductive layers;
- a backup communication path between the master processing device and the slave data device, the backup communication path configured to serve as a backup for the default communication path when a fault arises in the default communication path;
- a second set of NoC modules operatively connected along the backup communication path and routed via a second set of conductive layers, the first set of conductive layers being different from the second set of conductive layers;
- and
- a data checker, wherein a first input of the data checker is coupled to an output of a first NoC module in the first set of NoC modules, a second input of the data checker is coupled to an output of a second NoC module in the second set of NoC modules duplicated from the first NoC module, and an output of the data checker is arranged to output a first signal indicating if the fault arises in the default communication path.
A network-on-chip (NoC) system, comprising:
- a default communication path between a master processing device and a slave data device;
- a first set of NoC modules operatively connected along the default communication path;
- a backup communication path between the master processing device and the slave data device, the backup communication path configured to serve as a backup for the default communication path when a fault arises in the default communication path;
- a second set of NoC modules operatively connected along the backup communication path, wherein the first set of NoC modules and the second set of NoC modules are routed in a same set of conductive layers;
- and
- a data checker, wherein a first input of the data checker is coupled to an output of a first NoC module in the first set of NoC modules, a second input of the data checker is coupled to an output of a second NoC module in the second set of NoC modules duplicated from the first NoC module, and an output of the data checker is arranged to output a first signal indicating if the fault arises in the default communication path.
