Techniques for dns ecosystem health checks

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media including instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform the steps of:

• receiving a first target domain name;
• determining a set of target DNS servers included in the DNS ecosystem;
• transmitting one or more requests to each of the set of target DNS servers for DNS configuration information managed by the set of target DNS servers, wherein the DNS configuration information comprises information associated with a plurality of target domain names;
• identifying a plurality of DNS elements included in the DNS ecosystem that should be tested based on the first target domain name and the DNS configuration information;
• performing one or more validation operations on the plurality of DNS elements based on the first target domain name to generate a first set of validation results;
• and
• identifying a first DNS issue associated with the first target domain name based on the first set of validation results.

A system comprising:

• one or more memories storing instructions;
• one or more processors that are coupled to the one or more memories and, when executing the instructions, are configured to:
• receive a first target domain name;
• determine a set of target DNS servers included in the DNS ecosystem;
• transmit one or more requests to each of the set of target DNS servers for DNS configuration information managed by the set of target DNS servers, wherein the DNS configuration information comprises information associated with a plurality of target domain names;
• identify a plurality of DNS elements included in the DNS ecosystem that should be tested based on the first target domain name and the DNS configuration information;
• perform one or more validation operations on the plurality of DNS elements based on the first target domain name to generate a first set of validation results;
• and
• identify a first DNS issue associated with the first target domain name based on the first set of validation results.
