Abstract
A system and a method include a control unit for determining a runway alert for an aircraft at an airport. The control unit is configured to monitor a position of the aircraft at the airport, and output the runway alert to the aircraft in response to the aircraft being within a predetermined distance of a runway at the airport.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a control unit for determining a runway alert for an aircraft at an airport, the control unit configured to:
- monitor a position of the aircraft at the airport, and
- output the runway alert to the aircraft in response to the aircraft being within a predetermined distance of a runway at the airport.
A method for determining a runway alert for an aircraft at an airport, the method comprising:
- monitoring, by a control unit, a position of the aircraft at the airport;
- and
- outputting, by the control unit, the runway alert to the aircraft in response to the aircraft being within a predetermined distance of a runway at the airport.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising executable instructions that, in response to execution, cause one or more control units comprising a processor, to perform operations comprising:
- monitoring a position of an aircraft at an airport;
- determining a predetermined distance of a runway at the airport in relation to a reference segment extending from a front portion of the aircraft;
- and
- outputting a runway alert to the aircraft in response to the aircraft being within the predetermined distance of the runway at the airport, wherein said outputting comprises outputting the runway alert in response to the reference segment intersecting a defined portion of the runway.
