Abstract
A display device includes a display panel that includes a pixel and a sensor. The pixel includes a pixel driving circuit and an emission element. The sensor includes a sensor driving circuit and a sensing element. The display device also includes a driving circuit that drives the display panel. The sensor selectively operates in a first mode in which a fingerprint is detected and in a second mode in which illumination is detected.
Claims22
A display device, comprising:
- a display panel comprising a pixel and a sensor, the pixel comprising a pixel driving circuit and an emission element, and the sensor comprising a sensor driving circuit and a sensing element;
- and
- a driving circuit that drives the display panel,
- wherein the sensor selectively operates in a first mode in which a fingerprint is detected and in a second mode in which illumination is detected.
A method of driving a display device comprising a display panel comprising a pixel and a sensor, the pixel comprising a pixel driving circuit and an emission element, and the sensor comprising a sensor driving circuit and a sensing element, the method comprising:
- receiving a mode selection signal;
- detecting a fingerprint when the mode selection signal includes information that causes the sensor to operate in a first mode;
- and
- detecting illumination when the mode selection signal includes information that causes the sensor to operate in a second mode.
