Rendering a visual representation of a luminaire by using displacement and bump maps

A system for displaying a visual representation of a luminaire to be manufactured using an additive manufacturing process, said system comprising:

• at least one output interface;
• and
• at least one processor configured to:
• obtain a three-dimensional model of said luminaire, perform frequency splitting on texture details associated with said luminaire,
• select a first portion of said texture details and a second portion of said texture details based on said frequency splitting,
• obtain a displacement map which includes the first portion, said first portion being included only in the displacement map,
• obtain a bump map which includes the second portion, said second portion being included only in the bump map,
• render said visual representation of said luminaire based on said three-dimensional model, said displacement map, and said bump map, and
• display said visual representation via said at least one output interface.
